| Gypsy Spirit Captured in SVSU "Muse and Brunch" Performance |
| Wanderlust will be celebrated during a musical performance as Saginaw Valley State University presents "The Gypsy in My Soul" Sunday, Nov. 22 during the fifth annual Muse and Brunch event. The show will be performed twice in SVSU’s Arbury Fine Arts Center. Both sessions open with a meal and the concert to follow. The first begins at 11:30 a.m. and the second at 2 p.m. Admission to the event is free of charge, but tickets are required and seating is limited. The concert will feature selections from musicals and operas such as "Gypsy," "Paint Your Wagon," "The Ballad of Baby Doe" and "Naughty Marietta." The menu for the brunch features chicken, baked beans, cheddar bacon mashed potatoes and brownies. Students performing include: • Sarah Arnold, a music education major from Davison • Andrea Knoll, a theatre major from Vassar • Jeremiah Kraniak, a music education major from New Haven • Melissa Miller, a music education major from Sebewaing • Rayechel Neiman, a music education major from Essexville • Mike Skutt, a music education major from Midland • Tami Snyder, a music and theatre major from Bay City • Donavon Tear, a music major from Flint • M. Viktoria Wilson, a music major from Saginaw In addition to performing, Knoll also will be co-directing the show with Ric Roberts, SVSU associate professor of theatre. Roberts and Julie Meyer, SVSU vocal artist-in-residence are co-producers. Pianist Cheryl Cheger-Timm will provide musical accompaniment. Beyond the concert, show goers also may enjoy the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum and the University Art Gallery, both of which will have special Sunday hours to accommodate visitors. The Muse and Brunch event is sponsored by Smith Bovill, P.C., a Saginaw law firm; Anthony and Jo Ellen Provenzano and the SVSU Foundation.
