Start Your Own Organization!

Campus Involvement

  • Getting involved in organizations can help you do better in your classes by providing you the opportunity to apply what you learn outside of class to your assignments inside the class.
  • You will be able to make connections and meet new people, gain valuable experiences and skills for future career opportunities.
  • Getting involved helps you develop and grow as a person.
  • Getting involved will increase your creativity, organizational skills, time management and people skills.
  • You will learn things that will help you in the "real world" such as how to budget money, how to deal with people, how to solve problems and how to plan events.

Getting Started

  • Decide what your intererests are. What do you want to be doing in your free time? By choosing something you enjoy, you will be committed to that cause.
  • Once you choose a club or organization that interests you, find two other students that share that common interest.
  • Find a faculty or staff member who will be willing to commit time to the organization as an advisor.
  • Write a constitution and/or bylaw for the organization.
  • Fill out paperwork in Student Life and return signed, with a copy of the constitution and membership roster.
  • Stay involved! Being involved will help you become a more marketable graduate.

  • Use of the following areas for free: Multipurpose room, Unity room, Rotunda, Alumni lounge, and various classrooms
